Private-Pay Home Care in Indianapolis, IN

Personalized, non-medical in-home care funded directly by your family, so the schedule, the caregiver and the level of attention are built around your loved one rather than an insurance formula.

What is private-pay home care?

Private-pay home care is in-home support that a client or family pays for directly instead of through Medicaid or Medicare. Because care is not limited by program rules, families choose the hours, services and caregiver match. APSA provides private-pay, non-medical home care throughout Indianapolis and Central Indiana.

Why Families in Indianapolis Choose Private-Pay Care

Many families reach a point where a parent or spouse needs more help at home than relatives can give, but they are not ready for a facility and do not want care decided by eligibility rules. Private-pay home care gives you control: you decide when care starts, how many hours are covered and what matters most day to day.

  • Flexible scheduling: a few hours a week, full days, overnight coverage or 24-hour care.
  • Consistent caregivers: we work to keep the same familiar faces in the home.
  • A plan built around the person: routines, preferences, interests and family priorities.
  • One point of contact: a care coordinator who keeps the family informed.

What Affects the Cost of Private-Pay Home Care

Every plan is priced to the care actually needed. The main factors are:

  • Total hours per week and whether care includes overnights or weekends
  • The level of hands-on personal care or memory support required
  • Whether care is hourly, live-in or around-the-clock
  • Coordination and concierge services your family wants included

You will receive a clear explanation of costs during your consultation, before any care begins. You can also review our care options on the homepage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is private-pay home care covered by Medicare?

Medicare generally does not pay for ongoing non-medical home care, such as help with bathing, dressing, meals or companionship. Private-pay home care is paid directly by the client or family. Confirm your own coverage with your plan.

Can I use long-term care insurance for private-pay home care?

APSA does not bill long-term care insurance companies directly. Clients pay APSA for care, and we provide detailed invoices they can submit to their long-term care insurance for reimbursement under their policy. If an invoice is more than the policy reimburses, the client is responsible for the difference.

Does APSA accept Medicaid?

APSA is a licensed Indiana Medicaid provider. The private-pay and concierge services described on this page are paid directly by the client or family. Call (317) 296-5702 to talk about eligibility for Medicaid-funded services.

How many hours of care can we schedule?

Families choose the schedule, from a few hours a week to full-time, overnight or 24-hour care. The plan can change as needs change.

Does APSA provide medical care?

No. APSA is a non-medical home care agency. Our caregivers help with personal care, daily living, companionship and safety at home. They do not provide skilled nursing or medical treatment.
